Coaching Staff consists of Rocco Carzo, Kenny Goetz, DJ Wiles, Bryce Aneloski, and other Maverick Players & Coaches. There is professional, college, junior, and elite youth hockey experience throughout coaching staff!

Rocco Carzo (Kansas City Mavericks Captain)

Rocco was born and raised in Philadelphia, where he grew up playing locally for the Little Flyers AAA organization. He then went on to play two years of juniors in Iowa for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL, before earning himself a scholarship to attend and play collegiate hockey at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He spent four years playing for the Minutemen, captaining the team his senior year and graduating with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science with a Pre-Med focus. For the last 6 years, he has been playing professionally, spending most his time in the ECHL, with some brief stints in the AHL. He has spent the last four years playing in Kansas City for the Mavericks. In his off seasons, he dedicates his time to coaching and teaching the youth the game of hockey. For the last four summers, he has put together and ran numerous skills camps and clinics back in Philadelphia, also offering with private and semi private lessons. He is extremely excited about working with the youth here in Kansas City, and the potential it has to be a hockey hotbed in the very near future!

Bryce Aneloski

Born in Pekin, Illinois and played amateur hockey in Illinois for Team Illinois and Chicago Young Americans program. Played junior hockey for Cedar Rapids Roughriders in the USHL before going on to play Division 1 at University of Nebraska- Omaha. Drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the 2010 NHL Draft (7th Round 196th Overall). Played professionally in both the ECHL and AHL for 5 seasons. Retired from professional hockey in 2018. KC MAVS Peewee A1 Head Coach (2018-2019 Season).

Kenny Goetz

Ken Goetz played collegiately at Quinnipiac University in 1996 before joining the Jr. Coyotes of the EJHL in 1997 as an overage 20-year-old. Ken completed his college career graduating from D-III ECAC East UMass-Boston in 2001 where he collected 12 goals and 9 assists during his senior year and served as Assistant Captain.

At the conclusion of his college career, Ken signed as a free-agent with the Elmira Jackals of the United Hockey League. Ken went on to play 6 seasons of professional hockey in the Central Hockey League, East Coast Hockey League and a short stint with the Pittsburgh Penguins top affiliate, the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Penguins of the American Hockey League. During Ken’s professional career he scored 11G and 14A while amassing over 1,300 PIMS in 230 games.

Since retirement, Ken has coached youth hockey at all levels including Learn to Skate, Learn to Play, U8, U10, U12. Ken also coached the U16 Maine Junior BlackBears Tier 2 team for one season before moving to Kansas City where he resides with his wife Dawn and children Daxton and Drayden.
